Words To Avoid"Words To Avoid In Creative Writing"

We've all heard there are some no-no words in creative writing - these are words that you want to avoid "at all costs" some people say, but do you know which they are, and why you should avoid them? Well, I didn't the first time I saw a list of "words to avoid", and not surprisingly, a lot of people who write these lists don't know why either. (I know, SHOCK! GASP! just because someone wrote a guide doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.)

So, this morning I went on a word-finding spree to find these "word lists" and find out WHY I was supposed to avoid these words - and more import

Argh. To be honest, I'm not very happy with how this one turned out - (red mask, green background.. hard to make that work XD) and I'll probably go back and fix things over time. Out of the three Cadejo commissions I've done, so far this one has been the most difficult. Of course being sick and dealing with moving and various other things at the same time didn't help D: But I've been staring at it for so long now that I'm not even sure where to begin fixing it XD So for now, I'll declare it done, set it aside.. work on the next couple of commissions, then come back and gnaw this into submission. :3 Hopefully the commissioner will find it suitable >.<

Garm the plagued is supposedly the most creepy of the Cadejo - he's half-rat, rage-faced, and well.. a noxious, skeletal demi-god. XD Not sure what else there is to say about him.

trees and swamp and all are great - a couple notes for if you get back to it - to me he looks off balance, and, maybe a little less blue/more yellow in the bottom of the picture might tie it together a little better. green and red is a hard contrast to pull off, even though its just color wheel opposites and ones like purple and yellow are easy... I dont get it either, but I get it

Overall I like it! The skeletal feet and noxious fog are quite well done, particularly. I agree that there are one or two adjustments that might be made, but you've done an awesome job considering the frustration and time (and health) involved.

I wouldn't dream of asking anything more from you 'till you were recovered from what has apparently been a rough time.

I found the mask iffy at first, but after studying it for a while I've come to realize that what you've done is actually more effective than my original vision. My original idea was more of a sneer, but a scream of fury accentuates the opening for the mouth, symbolizes a nice (so to speak) sense of thoughtless anger, and also gives the curious impression that he's trying to gobble you up... all which is not at all off from his personality. I approve!

You should take a break before working on Gytash, get your health back. Maybe Galm's poisonous essence is what's making you ill?

lmao I didn't think about that but it's sort of funny that I start working on Galm the Plagued and end up sick XD hopefully i'll get over this food poisoning pretty fast -_- last time I had it I couldn't even get up out of bed for a week. -_- But I'll rest, get better, and then get back to work. After Gytash is done I'll revist Galm and see what I can fix - I think just working on him so long has sort of fuddled my brain on how to fix stuff. A fresh eye will be better ^^

Well I went through my 'sent' folder and the original note was gone, so I'll have to send a new one from scratch anyways.
