Com12 - Falcon Inked by DarlingMionette Com12 - Falcon Inked by DarlingMionette
Finally got this inked (YAY). Can I just say, that the hair took FOREVER -____- 80% of the time it took to ink this was all those lil strands of hair. Why do I draw this way -____-

Character (c): =Leafykins
Pose Reference (c): *Tigg-stock
Lines (c): =DarlingMionette

Please feel free to color this, or any of my other lineart. All I ask is that you provide the same credits as posted above in the deviation's description. I'd be very appreciative to see a link when you're done so I can add your piece to my Collaboration Folder!

I envy your ability to draw hair without using an anime style. Seriously. I've been trying to draw hair in a more detailed fashion for the past month or so and the results have been less than desirable, lol.

That seems so backwards, but I know what you mean, lol. Sometimes the simplest things are the most difficult to learn.

definitely -_- because you have to learn which strokes are important to infer that something's there even if you don't fully outline it. To me, it's way harder than just drawing all the details. lol

Even though I've been doing simplistic hair for what feels live forever, I've learned that it's so difficult to color. When you don't have the guiding lines for the direction the hair is flowing and such, it's hard to decide where to put shadows and highlights and the like. At least, it is for me, lol. I'm hoping that it will be easier to color and shade hair that's a bit more complex, but I'll have to see about that, lol.

Oh! And I actually did manage to pull out a sketch of my character for the commission. I'm gonna finish lining and at least do base colors later this afternoon, and then I'll note you with a link and a bit more detailed info. :D

awesomesauce. i should be done with my current commissions by the end of the week, so i can prolly work on yours come monday (it'd be this weekend if i didnt have family visiting -_____-) I know what you mean about hair. -_- i'm not sure if more complex is easier, or harder. haha it's easier to find your highlights and shadows, but i think it takes a lot more time to cg, because you -do- have to pay attention to all those little lines. If anything, it makes the inking a pain in the ass. LOL
